CMERF (CAREC member’s Electricity Regulators’ Forum) devoted to “Calculation of cost based tariffs” Baku Workshop during April 07-11,2008 jointly organized by ADB and TC of Azerbaijan Republic, has ended.
CMERF (CAREC member’s Electricity Regulators’ Forum) devoted to “Calculation of cost based tariffs” Baku Workshop during April 07-11,2008 jointly organized by ADB and TC of Azerbaijan Republic, has ended.
As informed before, 40 representatives from USA, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Philippines, China, Afghanistan, as well as Ministry of Economic Development, Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Republic, “Azerenerji JSC”, “ Baku Elektric Distribution JSC“ participated in Workshop.
The following topics considered and discussed during Workshop:
- understanding cost of service model;
- developing lifeline rate policies;
- universal service obligations and lifeline tariffs;
- regulatory agency structure and procedures;
- regional energy trading;
- prerequisites for retail competition;
- promotion of public-private partnerships in the energy sector;
- overview of the electric power system.
Meanwhile, on 3-th and 4-th Workshop Days, the participants have divided into two groups, first one discussed concrete problems and their solutions, second group- trained on cost of service model calculation.
In other to familiarize with energy sector , during the last Workshop Day, visit the participants to Azerenegy managed “Shimal TPS” and Baku Electricity Distribution managed power substations organized, where information on the measures of power generation in the country, investments, the structure of electricity generation, as well as rehabilitation works in distribution network development implemented by the government and other interested questions were addressed .
